THIS IS THE VTM 1.01 & 1.02
UPDATE 31Mar01
Reinstalled 05Apr01 Old Mar 31 VTM 1.0.2 and vtjpeg.jar 65.3 kb 11/22/00 Old Mar 31 VTM 1.0.2 vtjpeg.jar 65.9 kb 23Jul01 Current VTM 1.0.2 vtjpeg.jar 67 kb ?? |
| 1. VTM unnecessarily recompresses .jpg's. Files saved in PV "Best" Original After VTM compression bmarina
358kb
64kb 82% This is not a good thing..(05Apr 11:00hrs CDT) MGI Tech support recommend that during publishing in the Zoom Viewer Dimensions box that you deselect 'Size all photos to fit" option. Then when you are finished publishing.. your images will remain unchanged. 2. VTM Now does appear to handle partial panoramas. At the marina suggest just clicking on the LEFT yellow button. That will take you to the Benbrook Dam. You will notice this the partial pano is now working properly. Now Click on the RIGHT button and go back to the Benbrook Marina (full 360). All the images at this point exhibit severe flashing (full viewer image redraws or refreshes) and maintain the partial pan's left and right limits of the partial pan even though this Marina image a full 360 panorama. 3. VTM .jpgs Netscape Versions 6.0/6.01 was tested and they do not display the VTM series. MGI says that Applets are now viewable in Netscape Navigator 4.07 – Communicator 4.71 to 4.76. (See note about 4.72 below) We have not tested yet 4.5 or 4.7 because we do that them installed on our machine. 4. VTM consistantly looses and then displays part time non functional hotspots (18x18 pixel transparent dotyelo.gif) Also a viewable TOOL tip were placed on each hotspot.. they now viewable. Hotspots are not stable as the move and overlay each other (see benbrook dam.jpg) even though they initially we spaced over 2" apart. 5. 20July2001 UPDATE NS6.0x now FIXED. David Almond discovered on that VTM apparently miscodes the xml code by placing \ slashes instead of / in the html page as well as in the .xml files. Also it was learned that it helps if you hard code the url FIRST file to be called to start the tour. For example: <applet To read: "http://www.360texas.com/virtualtour/texas/stockyard/ Then use NOTEPAD to change in
each .xml file all the path "\" to be "/" .
<?xml version="1.0"?> These changes were tested with IE5.01, and NS6.01 and the tour now works. I did ask a friend to test the tour with NS4.72. And the tour continues to fail. Text shown here that concern an August release vtjpeg.jar 62kb was cancelled. |
