Nikon950 Tripod Head for Portrait / Landscape  Panorama images

Estimated cost  Less than $5   about 1 hour to complete with materials on hand.

Greg B. in Virginia, crafted this bracket to fit his Nikon 990.  He used a 1/8" thick x 3/4" x 8" long metal bar.  He adapted the tripod screw so as to attach the bracket.

Then he found a nylon hex head machine thread screw 1/4" diameter by 1/2" long (threads are 1/2" long) in the local hardware store.   He used 2 to 3 washers to tighten up the excess threading.  Check with Greg.. he said he had a few left over.. may you could buy them from him.

The 8" long metal bar was special fit dimensions for his tripod.  So you should measure your own camera to get the proper length.  To help, the measurements for the tripod screw hole to the fisheye nodal point are found on this site.

By the way  the horizontal distance from the bottom tripod screw hole is on the camera to the nodal point  fisheye lens shown here in this position is about 4.25 inches (10.8cm).
